There are six articles of faith in Islam, known as “Arkan al-Iman” (Pillars of Faith), are the core beliefs that every Muslim must hold.
6 Articles of faith in Islam
- Belief in Allah (Tawhid):
This is the belief in the oneness of Allah. Muslims believe that there is only one God, who is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of the universe. He is unique and incomparable, with no partners, offspring, or equals. - Belief in Angels (Mala’ika):
Muslims believe in the existence of angels created by Allah from light. Angels are spiritual beings who carry out the commands of Allah. They do not have free will and are tasked with various duties, such as recording human deeds, delivering messages, and executing divine decrees. - Belief in the revealed Books (Kutub):
Muslims believe that Allah revealed holy books to His prophets as guidance for humanity. These include the Torah (Tawrat) given to Moses (Musa), the Psalms (Zabur) given to David (Dawud), the Gospel (Injil) given to Jesus (Isa), and the Quran given to Muhammad. The Quran is considered the final and unaltered revelation. - Belief in the Prophets (Nabi and Rasul):
Muslims believe in all the prophets sent by Allah to guide mankind, starting from Adam and including prophets such as Noah (Nuh), Abraham (Ibrahim), Moses (Musa), Jesus (Isa), and the final prophet, Muhammad. They believe that all prophets preached the same fundamental message of monotheism and submission to Allah. - Belief in the Day of Judgment (Yawm al-Qiyamah):
Muslims believe that there will be a Day of Judgment when all individuals will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds. People will be judged fairly, and their final destination will be either Paradise (Jannah) or Hellfire (Jahannam), based on their faith and actions in this life. - Belief in Predestination (Qadar):
This is the belief that everything that happens, good or bad, is by the will and decree of Allah. Muslims believe that Allah has knowledge of all events before they occur and that He has predetermined all matters, yet humans have been given free will to choose their actions, for which they will be held accountable.

These six beliefs form the foundation of a Muslim’s faith and are essential to the Islamic creed.
